Africa’s first cruise event a resounding success

The first ever Seatrade Africa Cruise Forum welcomed 180 delegates from 15 countries to Durban from 10-12 May, for conference discussion and workshops between regional destinations and cruise lines.

During robust conference sessions, key cruise line decision-makers from a cross section of the major brands, including Silversea, Azamara, Seabourn, The World, Princess, MSC Cruises, Fred. Olsen, Holland America Line, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity demonstrated a strong commitment to the region as well as calling for collaboration to move forward.

“Africa is one of the most highly rated of those destinations we visit,” noted Mary Shaw-Delaney, Director Shoreside Programs, Silversea, “and guests are clamouring for more.”

Workshops on day two of the event gave regional destinations a one-off opportunity to foster deeper relations with cruise line executives deciding on ship deployment in the region.
